Bad Girls Presents; The Performers Pt.2
Sunday May 5th – 8pm to 3am
💥✨BAD GIRLS presents; The Performers Pt 2 ✨💥
Way back when, in the glorious days of 2017, we graced The Sunflower Lounge with one of our favourite events to date – Bad Girls presents; The Performers. We played host to some of the biggest female bands in Birmingham, raised money for charity, covered everything in glitter and had a great party. So after two years, we thought why not resurrect the night for a May bank holiday like no other. Bigger, better and bolder – this event will play host to some of the best bands and artists around.
⚡️✨THE PERFORMERS ✨⚡️
We are SO excited to announce that we will be hosting the incredible EKKAH as our headline act! Originally hailing from Birmingham, the talented Rebecca Wilson & Rebecca Pennington have been best friends since meeting at college from the age of 15. The multi-instrumental duos enigmatic music style takes influence from Chic, Sister Sledge, Prince and Madonna. Their funk and disco infused music is exciting, bold and fun, which never fails to bring those dance vibes. They have released a number of huge, and much-loved singles such as Last Chance To Dance, Small Talk and ‘What’s Up’ – playing festivals such as Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party & many more. It’s safe to say we couldn’t have picked a better headliner to bring those BAD GIRLS vibes!
We also have alt-pop Birmingham based duo, Hunger Moon who will be gracing our stage. Exciting things are happening for this band who have recently been nominated at the Birmingham Midlands Awards for Rising Star… and we can see why! Lead Singer, Natalie Jenkins haunting vocals are both beautiful and powerful, with their beautiful, story-telling lyrics this band really are ones to one to watch out for.
KIM’S COLD FOOD COMPANY
If you weren’t living under a rock the past few months you would have undoubtedly been bowled over by Sofa King’s nostalgia infused lo-fi tunes. Whilst they take a break we’re ever so excited to bring you the latest project from their head honcho, Diane Burdon. If previous shows are anything to go by you can expect only two things: the unexpected, and to become absolutely smitten with Kim’s Cold Food Co.
Of course, the event will feature an array of Birmingham’s best artists showcasing their female inspired art. We can’t wait to announce this exciting news with you… watch this space! If you would like to be involved then get in touch!
Let’s talk event posters. After every weekend the old ones are taken down and the new posters for next weekends big events go up in the usual spots. For us, we wanted to find a way to spread our message and educate others on the way we as women deserve, and should be treated. “MY CLOTHES ARE NOT MY CONSENT” – is a powerful message which we stand by, and believe by spreading this message across venues within Birmingham we can help, support and protect the women of Birmingham… after all, every little helps? You can wear what you want, when you want, to where you want it and no outfit or item of clothing gives anyone the right to believe that mean’s that you want to be touched, harassed, or “asking for it”.
If you would like to help us spread this message, get in touch!
✨SAFE GIGS FOR WOMEN✨🎸
As always we will not only be raising awareness, but also money for a great cause. For this event we have chosen Safe Gigs for Women. Their vision is to create a safe environment for women at gigs. They accomplish this by working with gig goers, venues and bands to help protect attendees. This is a fantastic initiative and we can’t wait to see this everywhere.
