Singapore duo Causeway Youth today release new single ‘Places’.
If you like lo-fi indie pop then you will love ‘Places’. The jangly guitars are a real charm, taking the song in to dream pop territory and the vocals fit the song perfectly, downbeat but sweet.
“We used to go to places we’ve never been, but now there’s nothing left” Causeway Youth lament. There is a melancholic feel to the track that adds to the beauty of the song. The duo of Jazreel-Anne and Esther explain “The initial idea of ‘Places’ was birthed from a Word Document on Google Drive created by past lovers who listed places to go to. Now that it’s all over between them, thrashing the document helps to remind oneself that there’s nothing left in these places and it’s time to move on.”
