New Zealand trio Dead Little Penny have released new single ‘Dead Together’. It’s a scuzzy track that mixes garage rock, punk and grunge to come out with a sound that has a nostalgic 90’s vibe about it yet also a modern day feel, right down to singer Hayley Smith’s vocals having a touch of Courtney Love about them.
The guitars sound great on the track, and if you imagine an almagamation of L7, Death Valley Girls and Starcrawler then ‘Dead Together’ is probably close to what you would get. If you like your rock with a female vocal then you will love this.
“I just really wanted to write a song that pokes fun in a really open and honest way about the shitty things we do for love, friendship, and a sense of belonging” – Hayley Smith.
