Glaswegian indie-rock four-piece, formerly LUCIA, have renamed and re-invented themselves. If this anthemic pop-banger is anything to go by it was a mighty fine move. This rousing single gets the blood pumping with a blistering chorus dedicated to every woman who has ever been wronged by a man.
Lucia says of the single, “Good girls do bad things is a song written for any women who feels like they have ever been undermined, or made to feel worthless and weak by a man. I find myself in these situations far too often, now more than ever, and it is important to highlight that they are the weak ones in the situation. “Sad boys looking at me always get what they don’t see” – was a lyric written from experiencing and witnessing men thinking that we aren’t capable or smart enough to react and defend ourselves”
Lucia’s vocal is stronger than ever and tunefully spits out the venom in a no holds barred ferocity. The aggressive guitars are fully in tow; the clever percussion is an interesting and inspired touch. This is modern rock done with flair and style and recalls the finest works by Paramore and Wolf Alice.
