Portobello Coming To The Bristol Pear
Tuesday June 11th – 7pm to 11pm
Join Portobello as they play their last show together at The Bristol Pear.
Since their formation in late 2017, Portobello have developed a unique musical style, influenced by the likes of Tom Misch, Jamiroquai, and Ady Suleiman, resulting in a sound that combines the elements of funk, soul, and indie genres. Boasting intricate drum fills, slick guitar, and funky basslines under soulful vocal melodies, ‘Money’ is emblematic of the band’s funkier and more upbeat side.
Andrew Burns (vocals, guitar and keys), Lucy Bisset (vocals and keys), Jake Parsons (guitar and keys), Joe Friend (drums), Joe Day (bass guitar), and Reuben Gower (lead guitar) have played several gigs together across Birmingham as Portobello, with ValeFest and Door2Door Festival being the highlights of a successful 2018 for the band. After supporting The Clause at their sell-out Birmingham leg of their UK tour late last year, Portobello returned to the Sunflower Lounge in early 2019, selling out their first ever headline show.
