Singles Roundup

A quick look at some singles we can recommend.

Stockhom duo Black Beach Baby have released ‘All I Know’, a lo-fi poppy number full of appeal.

‘All I Know’ is the kind of dreamy bedroom pop that anyone can make, but not everyone is able to master the charm that comes with a song like this. It mixes both an 80’s & 90’s vibe to conjur up an happy aura, even though the lyrics are sad, and even though the vocals aren’t great, they work perfectly with the song. They synths are a particular joy.

Pale Moon is an Icelandic/Russian psychedelic group based in the south of Iceland.

New single ‘Exile’ is a gem of an indie pop song. The chorus is gorgeous and the mild pace of the song gives you a chance to absorb everything in the track. It really is beautiful. Have a listen below and see if you agree.

‘Exile’ is perfect for a lazy summer afternoon.

The first thing I’m going to say is Eva B. Ross has a beautiful voice. The second thing I’m going to say is that she has released a gorgeous song in ‘Subliminal’.

‘Subliminal’ is a dreamy love song that is just perfect in every sense. Not an artist I was familiar with previously I think we could have a real star on our hands in Eva B. Ross. A kind of mix between Your Smith & Natalie Prass.

About the song Eva had the following to say – “I wrote this song about the subliminal messaging that happens early in dating. When you have a crush on someone, and you listen to their playlists and hope they’re trying to tell you something. It’s a fun little thing, before anything becomes real – and everything is still possible…”.

’21’ is the new single from Vancouver trio Little Destroyer.

Musically ’21’ reminds me a little of Yonaka, especially the chorus and at times there is even a similarity between the vocals of singer Allie Sheldan and Theresa Jarvis. An indie rock song with a slight R&B vibe.

About the song the band said – “21 is an intoxicating trip through the highs and lows of trying to survive the modern world as a damaged human; Think of yourself as dead. You have lived your life. Now, take what’s left and live it properly. What doesn’t transmit light creates its own darkness.”
