Skegss – Save It For The Weekend

Skegss once again manage to straddle both sides of the Atlantic with latest single, ‘Save It For The Weekend’. Take the best of British music, punk in this case, and marry it to the best of the sun kissed party-punk of West Coast America and this is what you get.

‘Save It For The Weekend’ combines Pixies-like chord progressions and vocal inflections in the verse with a banging slacker anthem chorus that could be Green Day or Blink 182.

The undercurrent attitude is the pure “’Ave it!” grit and grime of early Oasis and the Stone Roses: the reality of the working week, and the desperate yearning for Friday and a bloody good weekend piss-up.
