Indie Midlands presents Strange Cages + Special Guests
‘Brighton’s Strange Cages are one of the country’s most vivid live acts, a group whose psychotic take on rock ‘n’ roll turns the narrow streets of Brighton into desert hallucinogenics.’ CLASH
“STRANGE CAGES possess a primality which suggests a pungent diet of psych garage fuzz: from The Stooges to The Seeds, these guys metabolise their influences with bold panache, creating a fevered serge of sweaty hedonist rock” – Hero Magazine
“STRANGE CAGES sound like they’ve been plucked from a scuzzy dive bar in California circa 1967” – Gigslutz
“Strange Cages’ dark, primal sounds suggest a strict and pungent diet of psychedelic garage rock. Strange Cages could easily be filed between The Cramps and The Black Angels, with their sleazy, gritty vocals and snaking guitar lines” – Fred Perry Subculture
Starting out as a ‘dead record project’, Quentin Francis is the work of The Sunset Beach Hut drummer Matty George.
Songs that have been lying round untouched (some for years) are being resurrected to be heard for the first time with a debut show on the 16th September at The Sunflower Lounge (Birmingham).
Music coming soon!
